Prineville, Ore. – A Prineville man was arrested Sunday after allegedly leading officers on a high-speed pursuit that began in Prineville and stretched across multiple counties before ending in Harney County, according to a press release from the Prineville Police Department.
Police say the incident began around 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 30, when officers attempted to stop a white Nissan Altima linked to an ongoing month-long narcotics investigation. The driver — identified as Clay Jamison, 46, of Prineville — reportedly refused to pull over, accelerating to speeds that exceeded 100 miles per hour.
Due to the danger posed to the public, Prineville officers terminated the pursuit. They then alerted surrounding agencies, including the Wheeler County Sheriff’s Office, Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon State Police (OSP), and the Harney County Sheriff’s Office.
Several hours later, OSP located Jamison in Harney County and took him into custody without further incident. Officers reported finding felony-level quantities of cocaine and methamphetamine in his possession at the time of arrest.
Jamison was booked into the Harney County Jail and now faces multiple charges in Crook County, including:
- Felony Attempt to Elude Law Enforcement
- Reckless Driving
In a statement, Prineville Police thanked the numerous agencies involved in locating and arresting Jamison, including police departments in Burns and Hines, multiple county sheriff’s offices, and dispatch centers across the region. Officials said the coordinated response “played a key role in safely bringing this incident to a close.”
