
Powell Butte, Ore. – A single-vehicle crash was reported Sunday evening along Southwest Houston Lake Road near Lester Wick Rd in Powell Butte, the Crook County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to the Prineville Review.
The crash occurred on SW Houston Lake Road south of Lesterwick Road, roughly between Lesterwick and SW Minson Road. Reports of the crash came in shortly before 5 p.m Sunday evening.
“There was a crash, and we’re currently investigating it,” Sgt. Justin Silence said Sunday night. “It was a single vehicle, single occupant.”
According to Silence, the driver was treated at the scene and released, and no additional injuries were reported.

Numerous citizens reported on social media numerous emergency vehicles racing to the scene from Prineville around the time reports of the crash came in. Other posters reported that a truck overturned on the roadway, although those details were not confirmed by the Sheriff’s Office.
The roadway is not currently closed at this time, according to CCSO.
“The roadway is open,” Silence confirmed.
Silence said the area experienced unusually heavy traffic Sunday evening.
“There was a lot of traffic on Houston Lake Road tonight,” he said. “I don’t know why, but there was.”
The crash remains under investigation, and no further details were available as of Sunday night. The Crook County Sheriff’s Office said a full press release is expected to be issued Monday morning with additional information.
