Prineville, Ore. – A ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the official opening of the new Crook County Justice Center is slated to take place Friday, Sept. 27th at 3pm at 260 NW 2nd St in Prineville.
The announcement, sent to the Prineville Review by County Communications Officer Sarah Puerner, stated that numerous local officials will be speaking about the impacts of opening the new center, as well as refreshments being available public during the event.
“Join us for the ribbon cutting of the new Crook County Justice Center. This event marks a significant milestone in our community as we unveil a state-of-the-art facility designed to enhance the administration of justice in Crook County,” the announcement stated.
“Join us and hear from local officials this center will have on our community. Light refreshments will be served. Don’t miss out on this momentous occasion!”
The new justice center was the result of a $35 million bond approved by Crook County voters in 2021.
“It will house the court system, the circuit court system, the district attorney’s office. It has a few state offices that will be in there, like the public defense will have a couple of rooms, our juvenile department in Crook County will be in the facility, and then the sheriff’s office will be in there,” Commissioner Brian Barney told Central Oregon Daily News early last year.
