Prineville, Ore. — Crook County will host a multi-agency resource event later this month aimed at connecting residents impacted by recent wildfires with recovery assistance and services.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26th, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Crook County High School gymnasium, according to a press release issued by the county Thursday.
Crook County said it is partnering with the Oregon Department of Forestry and a number of local, state and federal agencies and community organizations for the event, which is being described as a Multi-Agency Resource Center.
The goal is to bring representatives from multiple organizations together in one location where wildfire-affected residents can ask questions, learn about available resources and connect directly with agencies involved in recovery efforts.
Officials said participating organizations are expected to provide information on assistance programs, insurance, housing and health services for Crook County residents affected by recent wildfires.
The Oregon Department of Forestry is coordinating the event with community partners that currently include the Oregon Department of Human Services, Oregon State University Extension, Crook County Soil and Water Conservation District, Crook County Public Health, USDA Farm Service Agency, Crooked River Watershed Council, Red Cross, Oregon State Fire Marshal and Crook County Fire & Rescue.
County officials said a complete list of participating agencies and additional information will be released as details are finalized.
