Prineville, Ore. – Incumbent Crook County Commissioner Seth Crawford declared victory on Wednesday in his effort for re-election. Crawford has challenged by local businessman and former commissioner Ken Fahlgren.

Initial results on Tuesday evening reported a total of 13,371 votes, with Crawford securing 52.35% of the vote against Fahlgren’s 47.15%.

After updated results, which included a total of 14,730 votes, the results were 52.61% for Crawford and 46.88% for Fahlgren — nearly a 6 point difference. As of 11am this morning, Crook County has counted 16,148 ballets.

There are 21,906 registered voters in Crook County.

Following his interview with the Prineville Review Wednesday, Crawford took to Facebook to thank his family, friends, and supporters.

“Thank you, Crook County! I am deeply honored to be re-elected as your County Commissioner. I feel blessed to have such a supportive family this would not have been possable [sic] without my wife, Susan, and our daughters, Chloe, Reagan, and Landon. A special thanks to Chloe for her amazing performance in my campaign ad—she made us all proud,” Crawford said.

“I am here to continue to serve all of Crook County and work with you to find interesting solutions to make our county stronger. Thank you for your trust!”

We also reached out Wednesday to Fahlgren for comment on the current election results. He responded by email that evening telling the Prineville that he had no comment.

“No comment at this time[.] I appreciate you asking,” Fahlgren said.

While additional mail in ballets will continue to be received an counted, it’s unlike to have any significant shift in the current results.

We asked Crawford what he thought overall about election results both locally and on the national stage.

“I’m excited to see the country go in a different direction. I’m really hoping that President Trump can get in there and help improve the economy — get prices down, get inflation down, and getting more and better jobs here in America. On an international level, hopefully shutting down some of these wars and getting us back to a more peaceful world,” explained Crawford.

He again gave great thanks to his eldest daughter for her help on his campaign TV ad which was frequently seen, including in online advertisements, before being light hearted about it. “People are probably tired of my daughter’s commercial — I know she is,” joked Crawford.

Crawford also went on to respond to how he wanted to address many who may not have supported him in his re-election effort.

“I have and I am, and will continue to be a commissioner for the entire county. I want to hear from everybody, I prefer to hear from people who have issues and try to fix them,” Crawford told the Prineville Review.

We reached out again Friday offering Fahlgren an opportunity to comment. We also asked Crawford Friday morning if he had heard from his opponent. He said he had not.
