Prineville, Ore. — A 56-year-old Prineville man died Saturday evening following a motorcycle crash on Ochoco Ranger Station Road east of Prineville, according to the Crook County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded at approximately 5:46 p.m. on June 13th to a reported motorcycle crash near milepost 7.5 on Ochoco Ranger Station Road, approximately 20 miles east of Prineville. Oregon State Police and Crook County Fire and Rescue also responded to the scene.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, investigators learned that a Kawasaki motorcycle struck a guardrail before crashing nearby. The rider, identified as Jason Fall, 56, of Prineville, was ejected from the motorcycle and landed on the opposite side of the guardrail, suffering severe injuries.

Fall was initially transported to St. Charles Prineville before being flown by Life Flight to St. Charles Bend for additional treatment. Despite lifesaving efforts, he later died from injuries sustained in the crash.

The Sheriff’s Office said alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash.

The agency thanked Crook County Fire and Rescue, Oregon State Police, Life Flight and STAR Towing for their assistance at the scene.

“The Crook County Sheriff’s Office would like to extend our thoughts and prayers to Jason’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time,” the agency said in a statement.

The crash remains under investigation.
