Prineville, Ore. – A heavy police presence responded to a quiet residential neighborhood Friday morning after a reported disturbance left two men injured and a third person dead, according to a press release issued by the Prineville Police Department.
Prineville Police say the 911 call came in just before noon, at approximately 11:45 a.m., reporting a disturbance in the 800 block of NW 10th Street involving multiple victims with serious injuries. Officers from the Prineville Police Department, along with deputies from the Crook County Sheriff’s Office and troopers from Oregon State Police, responded to the scene.
Two adult male victims were located and treated for injuries. A third individual was found deceased inside the residence, police confirmed. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released pending notification of the next of kin.
The Central Oregon Major Investigations Team (MIT) has taken over the investigation, and authorities say the circumstances are being treated as a suspicious death.
In the statement, police emphasized that they believe all individuals involved in the incident have been accounted for and that there is no ongoing threat to the public. “The investigation is ongoing and there are no further details that can be released at this time,” the release stated.
