Prineville, Ore. – A 47-year-old Prineville woman was killed early Saturday morning in a single-vehicle rollover crash on SE Juniper Canyon Road, according to the Crook County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were dispatched at approximately 7:08 a.m. on February 7th to a crash near milepost 4 after a 9-1-1 caller reported a green Subaru Forester that had rolled into trees and that a person appeared to have been ejected from the vehicle. Upon arrival, deputies located one deceased individual and confirmed there were no other occupants in or around the vehicle.

Investigators identified the driver as Angel Ball, 47, of Prineville. Based on evidence at the scene, deputies determined the Subaru had been traveling northbound on SE Juniper Canyon Road at a speed greater than conditions warranted. The vehicle reportedly crossed into the southbound lane, left the roadway, slid sideways, and rolled several times before coming to rest against trees. Ball was ejected during the rollover.

“Based on the investigation, speed, not wearing a seat belt, and alcohol consumption are contributing factors to the crash,” said CCSO Lt. Mitch Madden. “Next of Kin was notified of the fatality.”

The Crook County Sheriff’s Office thanked Crook County 9-1-1, Crook County Fire & Rescue, the Oregon State Police, STAR Towing, and Prineville Funeral Home for their assistance at the scene.
