Crook County, Ore. – The Crook County Road Department announced earlier today that a short portion of Mill Creek Road has been reduced to a single lane near milepost 8.
A minor landslide was reported on Mill Creek Road in Crook County on Mar. 10th. As a safety measure, traffic is now limited to a single lane near milepost 8.29, just north of the Steins Pillar parking area, according to Crook County officials.
“In response, Crook County Road Department crews have implemented a temporary lane restriction, reducing the roadway to one lane to ensure public safety,” said Crook County Road Superintendent Brad Haynes.
“The affected section remains open to traffic in both directions, but travelers are urged to proceed with caution through the clearly marked and coned-off area.”
County crews continue to keep a close watch on the area and will share updates if additional measures are needed. While a full closure isn’t expected at this time, ensuring public safety remains the County’s highest priority.
“Residents and visitors are encouraged to stay alert, reduce speeds when traveling through the area, and be prepared for minor delays,” said Haynes’ statement.
