Crook County, Ore. – The Crook County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Saturday that Gordon Grafton III, 29, of Post, was found deceased after more than a week after being reported missing.

Sheriff’s officials said Grafton was located the morning of September 6th in a rural part of Crook County. His family has been notified. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family as they deal with the loss of Gordon,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. No further information was released.

Grafton was last seen leaving his home in Post on August 28th, according to authorities. He was reported missing the following day. On August 31st, deputies discovered his vehicle abandoned in a remote southeast portion of the county. Despite an extensive search of the area, no trace of him was found at that time.

Search efforts intensified on September 2nd, when drones and a tracking K-9 team were deployed, but Grafton remained missing until his body was discovered Saturday morning.
